Historical Context
The Danville Belt Railroad Company was incorporated in Illinois on September 8, 1905 and was based in Chicago.
The company's proposed route was from Georgetown Township, in Vermilion County, to a point connecting with the Chicago, Terre Haute and Southeastern Railway - a distance of about 7 1/2 miles.
The company operated as an independent entity, but it was controlled by the CTH&SE.
