Historical Context
The Stony Creek Railroad was incorporated on April 14, 1868 in Pennsylvania and opened on January 1, 1874.
The company's main line ran from Norristown to Lansdale, a distance of just over 10 miles. A second line - called the State Asylum Branch - ran from Asylum Junction to State Asylum.
The Stony Creek Railroad became the Stony Creek Branch under the Reading.
