Historical Context
In 1848, the Manufacturers Bank of Birmingham was started. The company changed its name to the Second National Bank of New Haven when it became a member of the National Bank System on February 3, 1864.
In the early 1970s, the Second National Bank of New Haven merged with Home Trust and Second National Bank to become the Second New Haven Bank.
Several mergers have taken place since then, making the bank part of the Bank of Boston (1993), Fleet (2000) and Bank of America families (2005).
