Historical Context
The Pittsburgh & West End Passenger Railway was incorporated and opened 1879, and in 1894 acquired the Pittsburgh Neville Island & Coraopolis Electric Railway (incorporated 1893), and in 1895 acquired the Pittsburgh Crafton & Mansfield Street Railway (incorporated 1893).
The line was acquired in 1900 by the Southern Traction Company.
