The company operated a number of lines that reached ports in New Haven, Bridgeport and New London, Connecticut; New Bedford and Fall River, Massachusetts; Newport, Providence, Wickford Landing and Block Island, Rhode Island; and New York City.
The company was controlled by the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad Company.
