The Boston Terminal Company was incorporated and organized in 1896. Equal shares of capital stock were owned by the founding companies - the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad Company, the Boston and Albany Railroad Company, the Boston and Providence Railroad Corporation, the Old Colony Railroad Company and the New England Railroad Company.
The Boston Terminal Company was responsible for the design, development and construction of Boston’s famous South Station.
