Historical Context
The American Natural Gas Corporation was originally incorporated in Delaware on October 11, 1927 as the Natural Gas Service Corporation.
The company purchased a number of smaller gas companies, primarily in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas, to form one of the country's largest natural gas systems. Cities served included Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Enid and Norman.
The company went into receivership on October 1, 1931 and was liquidated the following year via a receiver's sale, with the assets purchased by the newly formed Gas Utilities Company.
