Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the Union Street Railroad Company dating back to the 1890's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Treasurer, was a printed by the Century Lith. Company and measures approximately 12 1/4" (w) by 8" (h).
This certificate's intricate vignette features two trolleys - one traditional, one open air.

Please note a cardboard strip has been adhered to the back of the certificate and remains in place at the top of the piece. It appears this had been used to somehow mount the piece.
Historical Context
The Union Street Railroad was incorporated in New Hampshire on August 9, 1889.
The company was organized to construct electric railway from Sawyer's Bridge in Dover to the village of Great Falls in Somersworth.
The line opened in 1890 with a midway station at Burgett Park on the southern side of Willand's Pond.
