Historical Context
The Capitol Theatre-Amusement Company was incorporated in New Jersey.
The company was formed to build a twin theatre in Union Hill at the corner of 4th Street and Bergenline Avenue. One of theatres was known as the Capitol and the other the State.
The theatres were built in 1922, but the Capitol Theatre-Amusement Company went into receivership two years later and folded.
The theatres continued to operate into the 1960's.
