Intricately engraved antique stock certificate from the Chicago City and Connecting Railways dating back to the 1930s. This document was printed by the Western Bank Note Company and measures approximately 13" (w) by 9" (h).
This certificate features a beautiful vignette countless trolleys and cars on a busy Chicago street.

Historical Context
Chicago City and Connecting Railways was organized by J. P. Morgan interests under a trust agreement dated January 1, 1910, to take over the securities of the following traction companies:
- Chicago City Railway Company
- Calumet and South Chicago Railway Company
- Southern Street Railway Company
- Hammond, Whiting and East Chicago Railway Company
- Chicago and Western Railway Company
These properties comprised 407.0 miles of street railway serving the city of Chicago from the center of the business district south to the Indiana state line, and controlling the gateway of traffic from the manufacturing district of Gary, East Chicago, Whiting, etc.
