Historical Context
The Chester Street Railway Company was incorporated in Pennsylvania on July 13, 1882.
In 1891, the line was leased to the Union Railway Company of Chester, which in turn, was leased by the Southern Pennsylvania Traction Company in 1910.
The company operated just over 7.5 miles of track and was eventually controlled by the Wilmington and Philadelphia Traction Company.
