Historical Context
The Mohawk Rubber Company was founded in 1913 by S. S. Miller, Francis Seiberling, J. K. Williams, C. W. MacLaughlin, R. M. Pilmore, and F. J. Mishler in Akron, Ohio.
The company specialized in automotive and truck tires and other rubber products.
The company was eventually acquired by Yokohama, who shuttered the Akron plant in 1978. Mohawk also had a plant in West Helena, Arkansas.
