Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the Waverly Co-operative Bank dating back to the 1950's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Treasurer, was printed by the John A. Lowell Bank Note Company and measures approximately 12" (w) by 8" (h).
The certificate's vignettes features a photo of a house. The motto above the picture states "The American Home, the Safeguard of American Liberties."

The Waverly Co-operative Bank was incorporated in Massachusetts on April 4, 1896 and commenced business nine days later. The bank was based in Belmont.
Belmont is a western suburb of Boston and considered to be part of the Boston Metropolitan area.
