Product Details
Intricately engraved antique bond certificate from the Wallkill Transit Company dating back to the early 1900's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Secretary, was printed by the Breuker & Kessler Co. of Philadelphia and measures approximately 9 3/4" (w) by 14 1/4" (h).
The vignette features the New York State Seal.

Historical Context
The Wallkill Transit Company was incorporated in New York and operated a trolley line in the city of Middletown that extended through the town of Wallkill, to the town of Goshen, and thence to the village of Goshen. The line was in operation from May of 1894 to October of 1924.
The company also opened an amusement park known as Midway Park on the Wallkill River in the area of Midway Road, and ran trolley cars to it from Middletown and Goshen.
