Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the United States Worsted Corporation dating back to the 1920's. This document, which is signed by the company Vice President and Assistant Treasurer, was printed by the American Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 12 1/4" (w) by 8 1/2" (h).
This certificate features three vignettes, all depicting a herd of sheep.
The United States Worsted Corporation was originally founded as the United States Worsted Company as a consolidation of four New England textile mills, including the Lawrence Dye Works.
The company manufactured worsted and woolen men's wear and goods.
The company - whose slogan was "From fleece to fabric." - went into receivership and was auctioned off in 1931.
