Historical Context
United States Silver Fox Farms, Consolidated operated a 20 acre farm six miles outside of Spokane, Washington raising the Roosevelt strain of the Mormon fox.
The operation was basically a kennel for foxes. The cages were 20 by 60 feet and in a circular arrangement with a watch tower in the middle.
The company was the brainchild of Emmit Robinson and his brother Ralph. The brothers operated a number of other fox farms throughout the country under slightly different company names.
In 1933, the brothers were sued by shareholders for neglecting to keep the farms running, and the company went into receivership.
