Nicely engraved antique stock certificate from United Printers and Publishers Incorporated dating back to the 1930's and 1940's. This document, which carries the printed signatures of the company President and Secretary, was printed by the Central Bank Note Company and measures approximately 11 1/2" (w) by 8" (h).
The vignette features an allegorical female figure flanked by books and a city harbor scene.

United Printers and Publishers Incorporated was originally incorporated in Delaware in 1929.
The company's eventually became part of Rust Craft Greeting Cards in 1962. Many of the “firsts” in the greeting card industry belong to Rust Craft, including Anniversary and Graduation cards. They also developed a stock control system that many publishers would come to use.
Rust Craft was purchased by American Greetings in 1980.
