Historical Context
This company started as the Capital Phonolier Company which went bankrupt. A new backer (Leo Potter) reorganized the company as the Shepard Potter Company in Plattsburgh, New York, which changed its name to the Thermiodyne Radio Corporation in 1924. The company produced radio and electrical apparatus under the Thermiodyne, Radiolier, Sepco and All-Wave brands.
Leo Potter, also failed to make the venture sccessful, leading to bankruptcy sale in January 1927. Potter bought the trade name and formed the Algonquin Electric Company Inc. in Poughkeepsie, New York.
The company was best known for its TF-5 single dial radio - the first of its kind on the market. But it, nor its TF-6 model, found any significant footing in a very crowded market.
