Historical Context
The Syracuse Rubber Company, Inc. was incorporated in New York in 1919.
The company manufactured cord tires - under the Syra-Cord name - for automobiles.
One of the notable features of the Syra-Cord tire was said to be its universal tread, which was reported to give a positive action against skidding, as well as the easy riding and steering qualities of a ribbed tread.
The company later produced accessories for boats as well.
