Nicely engraved antique stock certificate from the Superior Electric Company dating back to the 1960's. This document, which contains the printed signatures of the company President and Secretary, was printed by the E. A. Wright Bank Note Company and measures approximately 11 1/2" (w) by 8 1/4" (h).

Historical Context
The Superior Electric Company was incorporated in Connecticut in 1916 and was based in Bristol.
The company manufactured motor control, voltage conditioning and solid state frequency converter products.
In 1989, Superior Electric was purchased by the Dana Corporation.
Superior's Middle Street building in Bristol was the headquarters and factory of the company, once one of Bristol's biggest industries. Superior employed as many as 700 workers at its peak in the 1960s, but the plant closed in 2001. Today, the company's buildings have been repurposed and leased to the company that is the city's biggest employer today - ESPN.
