Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the Standard Smelting & Refining Company dating back to the early 1900's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Assistant Secretary, was printed by the New York Bank Note Company and measures approximately 11 1/2" (w) by 8" (h).
Very hard to find piece with a vignette of a man shoveling ore into a smelter and a broad industrial town landscape. Griffins adorn the upper corners, while a dog appears within the company seal.

The Standard Smelting & Refining Company was incorporated in West Virginia in 1901.
The company operated a smelter on the Agua Frio River, on the Prescott and Eastern Branch of the Prescott, Santa Fe & Phoenix Railroad in the Big Bug District of Yavapai County, Arizona.
