Intricately engraved antique stock certificate from the St. Louis, Indianapolis and Eastern Railroad Company dating back to the 1890's. This document was printed by the New York Bank Note Company and measures approximately 11 1/2" (w) by 8" (h).
This piece features two nice vignettes - an eagle on a crag at the top and three horse heads at the bottom.

The St. Louis, Indianapolis and Eastern Railroad was incorporated in 1889.
In 1898, the company became part of the Indiana and Western Railroad, which was part of the Illinois Central system.
The road ran from Effingham, Illinois to Switz City, Green County, Indiana.
