Nicely engraved antique bond certificate from the Skil Corporation dating back to the 1970's. This document, which carries the printed signatures of the company Chairman and Secretary, was printed by the Security-Columbian Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 12" (w) by 8" (h).
This piece features a detailed vignette of a male allegorical figure holding a sledgehammer and globe. Beneath him are a stack of books and a winged wheel.

Skil was founded by Edmond Michel and Joseph Sullivan in Chicago, Illinois. Skil Corporation started in 1924 as the Michel Electric Handsaw Company with the invention of the world's first portable electric handsaw -- a product introduction that forever changed the construction industry.
The company was renamed Skilsaw in 1926 and Skil Corporation in 1952. Today, its ever-expanding line of cordless and corded power tools are produced as part of the Skil-Bosch Power Tool Company.
