Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the Second & Third Street Passenger Railway Company of Philadelphia dating back to the early 1900's. This document, which is signed by the company Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, was printed by the Security Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 12" (w) by 8 1/2" (h).

The Second & Third Street Passenger Railway Company of Philadelphia was incorporated 1858. The line was leased in 1893 to Frankford & Southwark Railway, and subsequently leased in1893 to Electric Traction Company of Philadelphia.
In 1895, the Electric Traction Company of Philadelphia became the Union Traction Company.
