Historical Context
The Rotary Hoisting Engine Company was incorporated in 1911 by Hugh Roy, Guy G.Gilbert and James W. Gilbert. The company was based in Owensboro, Kentucky.
The company planned to manufacture a hoisting type of the Moore rotary engine, which had been patented in May of 1910. However, there is no evidence the company was ever able to reach the manufacturing stage.
