Beautifully engraved antique bond certificate from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania dating back to the 1890's. This document, which is signed by the city Controller, was printed by the American Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 14 1/4" (w) by 9 3/4" (h).
This certificate features a pair of superb vignettes - Philadelphia City Hall at the bottom and Philadelphia Mayor Edwin Sydney Stuart at the left.

This particular bond was issued by the City of Philadelphia around the turn of the 20th century to help fund school, water works, gas works, sewer and bridge projects within the city.
