The Perfection Tire and Rubber Company was incorporated in 1917 in Delaware.
The company had had plants in Fort Madison, Iowa; Wabash, Indiana and, eventually, Los Angeles, California. The company's Fort Madison facility (which is pictured on this certificate) was lauded for being one of the most advanced plants in the country when it was built.
The company produced an asbestos protected tire of unique, patented structure, for which claimed unusual durability and inexpensive mileage. They also produced a cord tire built on Dickinson cord tire machine controlled by the company, as well as a ribbed or plain tread fabric tire.
In 1919, the company entered into an agreement with the Nemours Trading Corporation, giving the latter company exclusive distribution rights for all Perfection products.
