Beautifully engraved antique bond certificate from the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company dating back to the 1970's. This document, which carries the printed signatures of the company Chairman of the Board and Secretary, was printed by the Security-Columbian Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 12" (w) by 8" (h).

The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company managed the Bell System's telephone operations in California. It grew by acquiring smaller telephone companies along the Pacific coast.
It built and occupied San Francisco's Pacific Telephone Building on New Montgomery Street which has been described as a "monument to western progress and foresight".
