Historical Context
Northeast Bancorp came to be as a result of the reorganization of the Union Trust Company in 1972. The company was incorporated in Connecticut and based in New Haven.
In 1993, Northeast Bancorp was merged into First Fidelity, which subsequently merged into First Union Corporation in 1996.
