Nicely engraved antique specimen stock certificate from the North American Cigarette Manufacturers, Inc. dating back to the 1950's. This document, which contains the printed signatures of a company President and Secretary, was printed by the Columbian Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 12" (w) by 8" (h).
The vignette features a female allegory with a lion.

Historical Context
North American Cigarette Manufacturers, Inc. was incorporated in 1958 to manufacture a cigarette under the trade name of "Diplomat." The company advertised that the cigarette was safer for smoking, as a result of this process used in the making of Diplomat, which supposedly neutralized the nicotine.
The company, which was based in New York, does not to appear to have ever become commercially viable.
