Historical Context
The New York & Philadelphia Traction Company was incorporated in New Jersey in 1894 and was based in Trenton.
The company never actually operated in either New York or Philadelphia, instead acting as a feeder for other lines that served those cities.
In 1900, the Brunswick Traction Company merged with the New Brunswick City Railway and the New York & Philadelphia Traction Company, forming the Middlesex & Somerset Traction Company.
