Beautifully engraved antique bond certificate from the New York, Lackawanna and Western Railway Company dating back to the 1920's. This document, which was printed by the American Bank Note Company, is signed by the company Vice President and Assistant Secretary, and measures approximately 10 1/4" (w) by 15" (h).
This certificate features a vignette of two trains passing at a busy station.

The New York, Lackawanna and Western Railroad was chartered August 26, 1880, and opened September 17, 1882, to continue the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western from Binghamton west and northwest to Buffalo. The main line ran to the International Bridge to Ontario, and a branch served downtown Buffalo.
That same year, the company was leased to the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western.
