Historical Context
Music Master Corporation was originally founded as the General Radio Corporation by Walter Eckhardt in April 1908. The company changed its name to Music Master Corporation in February of 1924, and went into receivership just two years later - on May 3, 1926.
Music Master originally manufactured wooden horns for phonographs. They started manufacturing radios in 1922. The firm had a contract with the Ware Radio Corporation in 1925 for some 40,000 sets of a $50 model, but it wasn't enough to keep the company afloat.
The company was based on the corner of 10th and Cherry Streets in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and also had offices in Chicago and Pittsburgh.
