Mobile and Montgomery Railroad Company
Beautifully engraved antique bond certificate from the Mobile and Montgomery Railroad Company dating back to the 1870's. This document, which has been signed by the company President and Treasurer, was printed by Henry Seibert & Bros. and measures approximately 17" (w) by 12 1/2" (h).
This certificate features a pair of great vignettes - a train leaving town over a river bridge at the top and a locomotive and tender at the bottom right.
There are also 7+ rows of coupons at the bottom margin (not pictured.)

The Mobile and Montgomery Railroad was incorporated in Alabama in 1868 as a consolidation of the Mobile & Great Northern Railroad and the Alabama & Florida Railroad.
The company became the Mobile and Montgomery Railway in 1874 and became part of the Louisville & Nashville system in 1900.
The line connected Mobile and Montgomery with Pensacola, Florida.
