Nicely engraved antique stock certificate from the Maryland Storage Company dating back to the early 1900's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Secretary-Treasurer, measures approximately 9 3/4" (w) by 7 3/4" (h).
This certificate features a fantastic vignette of a detailed wharf scene including a large steamer, masted ships, a train and warehouses.

Historical Context
The Maryland Storage Company was incorporated under the laws of Maryland on November 18, 1904, to carry on a forwarding and warehouse business. The company established a tidewater terminus at Port Covington.
The company's primary terminal was located at the foot of Broadway and York Streets, and was purchased by the Baltimore Fidelity Warehouse Company in 1908.
The company was closely tied to the Western Maryland Railroad.
