Nicely engraved antique stock certificate from the Martinsburg Community Hotel Company dating back to the 1920's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Secretary, was printed by Goes and measures approximately 11" (w) by 8 1/2" (h).
This certificate's vignette features the company's Shenandoah Hotel in Martinsburg.

Historical Context
The Martinsburg Community Hotel Company was incorporated in West Virginia on March 20, 1924. The company became the Martinsburg Hotel Corporation in 1926, and operated the historic Shenandoah Hotel in downtown Martinsburg.
The company was dissolved in 1934, however the building operated as a hotel into the 1980's.
