Historical Context
The Lima Rubber Company was founded by James E. Grosjean and was incorporated in Ohio on February 18, 1920. On April 28th of the same year, the company's name was changed to the Lima Cord Sole and Heel Company.
The company was known for its "Gro-Cord" soles (which were supplied to a number of manufacturers, including Red Wing) and actually changed its name to the Gro-Cord Rubber Company in 1945.
