Intricately engraved antique stock certificate from the Kentucky Western Railway Co. dating back to the early 1900's. This document was printed by Mount & Co. of Cleveland, Ohio, and measures approximately 10 1/2" (w) by 8 1/4" (h).
The vignette on this piece shows a train exiting a tunnel.

Historical Context
The Kentucky Western Railway Co. was incorporated in 1899 to build a line from Dixon to Blackford, Kentucky.
In 1902, the line was sold to the Chicago, St. Louis and New Orleans Railroad, which was part of the Illinois Central system.
