Historical Context
The Jamaica and Brooklyn Road Company was incorporated in New York on May 22, 1880 as a consolidation of The Jamaica, Woodhaven and Brooklyn Railroad Company and the Jamaica and Brooklyn Plank Road Company.
In 1894, the company merged with the Brooklyn, Queens, County and Suburban Railroad.
Despite the company name, it was a horse trolley operation that covered the boroughs or Queens and Brooklyn.
