Intricately engraved antique stock certificate from the International P-A-Y-E Tramcar Company, Limited dating back to the 1910's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Secretary, was printed by the British American Bank Note Company and measures approximately 11 3/4" (w) by 7 3/4" (h).
This certificate features a unique vignette of one of the company's pay as you enter trolley cars.
Very desirable piece.

Historical Context
The Pay-As-You-Enter Car Corporation was incorporated in Delaware on May 25, 1910, as a successor to the Pay-As-You-Enter-Car Company of New Jersey.
The company was formed for the purpose of exploiting patents relating to fare collections on street cars.
In March 1911, the Pay-As-You-Enter Car Corporation merged with the Pay-Within Car Company and the National Pneumatic Company of Chicago resulting in formation of the Prepayment Car Sales Company, located at 50 Church Street, New York City.
The new company was later acquired by th International P-A-Y-E Tramcar Company - a Canadian concern.
