Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the Imperial Storage Battery Company dating back to the 1910's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Treasurer, was printed by the New York Bank Note Company and measures approximately 10 3/4" (w) by 8" (h).
The vignette on this piece features trucks, trolleys and trains encircling a globe.

Historical Context
The Imperial Storage Battery Company was originally incorporated in Delaware in 1911 to design a battery for automotive use. The company never filfilled its promise and was sued by investors in 1911 - leading the company to reincorporated as a Maine entity in 1912.
The company failed again later that year and was liquidated at auction in September.
