Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the German-American Conservatory of Music dating back to the 1910's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Secretary, was printed by Cameron, Amberg & Company, Printers, and measures approximately 10 3/4" (w) by 8 1/4" (h).
This certificate's fantastic vignette features a female figure in a Phrygian (Liberty) cap.

Historical Context
The German-American Conservatory of Music was incorporated in Arizona, but was located in Chicago. The company's offices were located on State Street.
The company offered a mail order piano instruction business, and had a number of copyrighted works including The Acrobat, The Chorister, Fairy Nocture, Fishing Excursion, Frolic with the Ponies, Jack 'O Lantern Party, Sabbath Chimes and Sweet Clover Waltz.
The company touted a "revolutionary" teaching method known as "The Music Master," which promised "No more hours of endless drudgery...no more mistakes...no more failures."
