The Garland Steamship Corporation was incorporated in New York on March 14, 1916.
The company operated a fleet of steamships, including the Carolinian, the Alamance (which was torpedoed by a German U-Boat off Ireland in 1918,) the James B. Duke, the Norlina and the Polar Sea.
