Intricately engraved antique stock certificate from the Fort Wayne, Muncie & Cincinnati Rail Road Company dating back to the 1800's. This document was printed by Stanage, Saunders & Co., Stationers, and measures approximately 10 1/4" (w) by 7 1/2" (h).
The certificate's beautiful vignette features a train steaming through a valley.

Historical Context
The Fort Wayne, Muncie & Cincinnati Railroad was incorporated in Indiana in 1868. The line extended from Connersville, Indiana, to Fort Wayne, Indiana, a distance of 108 miles.
In 1881, the line became the Fort Wayne, Cincinnati & Louisville Railroad.
The line eventually became part of the New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad system.
