Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the First Charter Financial Corporation dating back to the 1980's. This document, which contains the printed signatures of the company President and Secretary, was printed by the Jeffries Bank Note Company and measures approximately 12" (w) by 8" (h).
The certificate's interesting vignette features a topless female figure, with a covered wagon and a pair of houses.
The First Charter Financial Corporation was founded by Mark S. Taper in 1955. The company, which would become the parent of the American Savings and Loan Company, was based in Beverly Hills, California.
First Charter was acquired by Financial Corporation of America in 1983. Financial Corporation of America filed for bankruptcy just five years later.
