Historical Context
The East Harrisburg Passenger Railway Co. was chartered on July 28, 1886 to provide service in the Allison Hill section of Harrisburg. The company's first test run would occur in 1888.
In 1891, the company merged with the Harriburg City Passenger Railway Company. Four years later, the company became the Harrisburg Traction Company.
In 1912, the company became part of the newly formed Harrisburg Railways Company.
