Historical Context
The Bergen County Railroad opened in 1881 and ran from East Rutherford to Glen Rock.
The line was financed by the Erie Railroad Company in an effort to develop a route that avoided the bottlenecks that occured in Passaic and Paterson.
Today, it is part of New Jersey Transit's Bergen County Line.
