The Crescent Silver Company was incorporated in Ohio, with offices in Cincinnati.
Mining properties were located in the Argentine District of Colorado, in Clear Creek County.
Title to the company's property was sold due to financial difficulties in 1874 to Charles Mendenhall (formerly the President of the company) who created the Stevens Mining Company to mine the property. William Mendenhall served as agent for the Crescent Silver Company, and later with his uncle Cyrus Mendenhall, was agent for the Stevens Mining Company.
