Beautifully engraved antique stock certificate from the Continental Condensed Milk Company dating back to the 1910's. This document, which is signed by the company President and Treasurer, was printed by the National Bank Note Company and measures approximately 12" (w) by 8 1/4" (h).
This certificate features a great vignette General "Mad Anthony" Wayne. Anthony Wayne (January 1, 1745 – December 15, 1796) was a United States Army officer and statesman. He adopted a military career at the outset of the American Revolutionary War, where his military exploits and fiery personality quickly earned him promotion to brigadier general and the nickname "Mad Anthony." He served as the Senior Officer of the Army and led the Legion of the United States.
The Continental Condensed Milk Company was incorporated in Pennsylvania in 1909 and was based in Mill Hall.
The company produced Charter Oak brand condensed milk; Concord brand skimmed milk; Pilgrim brand sterilized, unsweetened evaporated milk; Bunker Hill brand condensed milk, 1776 brand condensed milk; Valley Forge brand sweetened condensed milk; and Colonial brand condensed skim milk.
The company also produced butter.
