Historical Context
The Consolidated Arizona Smelting Company was originally incorporated in 1906 as a New Jersey entity. The company reorganized as a Maine company in 1908.
The company operated a smelter in Humboldt, Arizona and owned 750 acres of land in Yavapai County and additional 730 acres in the Humboldt area.
The company owned two mines - the Blue Bell in Mayer, Arizona and the De Soto in Middletown, Arizona. These properties were both connected by an aerial tram with the Bradshaw Mountain branch of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway.
